We're back with TOS: Book Recommendations! Our first book of this series is for you, your sister, your cousin, your estranged neighbour and everyone in between.
Fourteen straight-talking, funny and insightful essays tackling race, gender, mental health, love, and much more.
Written by gal-dem, an award-winning collective of women and non-binary people of colour, “I Will Not Be Erased” is a hugely relevant and thought-provoking collection that reminds every young person, no matter their background, that they are not alone. Each chapter is inspired by raw materials from gal-dem’s teenage lives – diaries, poems, chat histories – and explores issues many young people face when growing up including; identity, friendship, activism, and body image to name a few. These personal and inspiring pieces create a powerful collection of essays, making “I Will Not Be Erased" essential reading for everyone.
It's hard to feel alone whilst reading through these essays. Each author's willingness to be vulnerable and transparent in their writing is so beneficial. It's a book that we wish was around when we were younger. As they share their stories and leave them in permanent ink on these pages, we are grateful that their stories will not be erased.
I Will Not Be Erased is available on Amazon and all good bookstores.
